Towards Becoming a MOOC Designer

1. After forming your teams, you have to decide on the topic of the MOOC you will be designing and developing. Here are some recommendations for you:

• You can choose any topic. However, it would be better to choose one related to your field of expertise. So that, you will not need to spend time on researching the topic (content analysis).
  
• Your MOOC should last in 4 weeks. So, choose a topic that is large and short enough to last in 4 weeks. 
  
• Please bear the ECTS in mind while choosing the topic. We recommend designing a MOOC worth of 1 ECTS. Which means you should think of at least 25 hours work load for the students in this MOOC.
  
• Choose a topic that can grab the attention of non-formal learners as well as that is related to the content of a formal course you offer.
  

The sooner you choose a topic the better! Time is short! So, please choose your topic as soon as possible.

2. Please write a paragraph about 

• introducing the topic you chose 
  
• why you want to create a MOOC on this topic
  
• the ways and target groups you want to deliver this MOOC
  

3. Share this introductory paragraph in the Week 8-9 Discussion Forum (one member go the team should share). Directly paste into the message area of your post. Also please include team members names and your institution into the post. Additionally, please type "MOOC Topic" into the topic field of your post. 

4. Do not forget to discuss your decision with your local facilitator.
